It will be winter for awhile still!

Winter at the ranch!

It may be some time before we start to see bare ground around here! For now, this is the only kind of horse being ridden at the ranch.

The picture to the right was taken by an Idaho state police officer on the road going to the Island Park Dam.  This is just a couple of miles from the ranch!

Island Park in February

As you can see, there has been a lot of snow this winter!  We definitely will not be opening in April like we have some years in the past, but horseback rides hopefully will be able to start sometime in late May.  We will see how much the snow melts before then and how quickly.  Even with the cold temperatures and abundance of snow, the horses have wintered great!  We look forward to some warm summer days.  We are taking reservations for summer, so send us an email if you would like to visit this summer: yellowstonehorses@gmail.com.  yellowstoneworld.com

Mama moose and calf

These two were spotted about two miles from the front entrance of the ranch this morning! That's likely a mama moose with her calf born early this spring. Thanks for the picture Justin Angell!
